In his first Scottish appearance, London-based Edward Thomasson presents a talk about his moving image practice.
Edward Thomasson’s videos explore how performance is used to navigate personal, interpersonal and occupational problems in contemporary life. His narrative-based works are performed by groups of trained and untrained actor and often employ song to describe the spoken and unspoken rules of social interaction.
Followed by a screening of his works at Filmhouse at 8.30pm. This screening will include the Scottish premiere of Pressure, a
new video that describe three fictional situations in which people voluntarily allow themselves to be used by other people, alongside earlier works.
